We can help you with your out-of-state fingerprinting needs. In brief, the process for submitting your fingerprints from out of state for a Florida license, is by getting fingerprinted in your local area and mailing it to us for processing.
You should get an FD-258 standard FBI fingerprint card and have it completed by a local fingerprint company or police department. The fingerprint vendor in your area should have this card as it is a standard one, but if you’re unable to locate one nearby, I would be glad to provide you with one. If the fingerprint person is doing wet fingerprints and they feel that your fingerprints are less than perfect examples, I would suggest you have them do two cards, as I can then pick the best image to upload. If they are scanning your fingerprints and printing out a card, then of course, I’d only need the one. You would then mail in the original card(s) along with two forms of ID and fill out the biographical and geographical information spaces on the fingerprint card and we will then scan the fingerprint card into our system and upload it for a background check. We will need your Florida ORI number, which is the originating agency identifier for the state agency that is requesting your background check. Generally speaking, that information is available on the website of the state agency requesting the background check, but if you have trouble locating it, please give me a phone call and I will help you.
To commence this process, get your fingerprints done and then scan a copy of the fingerprint card and email it to me for preliminary review or you can just text it to my phone number if that is easier. This review will save time in the case that there is an issue with the card that would make it a poor candidate for scanning. My cursory review should not be considered to be a guarantee that your card will scan through and be an acceptable candidate for fingerprint examination, but this is an easy opportunity to weed out the worst scans.
The comprehensive fee, which includes the State imposed fees and ours for handling the scanning and submission of the fingerprint card is between $150.00 and $179.00, depending on what agency we are submitting the card to. We will collect that fee only when the fingerprint card is in our possession. We accept credit cards and zelle. After we have submitted your fingerprint file, the system will generate a Transaction Control Number (TCN) which is an electronic receipt for the fingerprint file submission, and which is trackable online as proof that it was submitted. When you’re ready to mail the fingerprint card to me, please send it to me at the mailing address listed below. Please be sure to include two forms of ID and contact information – email and phone number, so I can reach you if need be when the card arrives.
